Biplab Kumar Deb has taken oath as the Rajya Sabha member from Tripura. Vice President  and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankar administered Deb as the member of the Upper House in the Parliament on Wednesday noon. Deb’s wife Niti Deb and son Aryan were among others who attenfded the sewaring in ceremony.

Deb, former Chief Minister of Tripura, was recently elected to the Upper House. 

After his swearing in Deb in social media platform said : 

With the blessings of Mata Tripurasundari, honoured to take oath as a Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha.

Gratitude to PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, BJP President Shri J.P.Nadda Ji, HM Shri Amit Shah Ji & senior leadership for giving the opportunity to represent my State.

With everyone’s support and collective efforts, I will work earnestly for the welfare and development of TRIPURA.

Meanwhile, Gulam Ali, who has been nominated from Jammu and Kashmir as the member of Rajya Sabha was also sworn in on Wednesday. 

V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Harivansh, deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha; P.C Mody, secretary general of Rajya Sabha and other senior officers of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat were present in the oath ceremony.
