In Bihar, an Assistant Returning Officer of the Sarairanjan Assembly constituency in Samastipur has been suspended by the Election Commission for negligence after some VVPAT slips from the EVM were found discarded outside. The Chief Election Commissioner has taken the incident very seriously and ordered an investigation into the matter.
A video related to the incident had gone viral on social media, following which the action was taken. An FIR has also been registered in the matter.
