Expansion of 8 National Highways under Bharat Mala Project in the state is being done on war footing. As a result of which, road connectivity in each district will be smooth by next year, stated ICA & DWS Minister Sushanta Choudhury to media after attending a meeting on DPR related matter of National Highway under Bharat Mala Project at the conference hall of West Tripura District Magistrate’s office yesterday. A DPR (Detailed Project Report) was presented in the meeting on National Highway expansion from Jirania to Kalitola Bypass under Bharat Mala Project on behalf of NHIDCL. Others present in the meeting were Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty, West Tripura DM Debapriya Bardhan, General Manager of NHIDCL and officials of PWD and other concerned departments.
ICA & DWS Minister and Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly took part in the DPR related discussion. They sought elaborate details from the officials of the concerned departments. They also directed to further expand National Highway from Ranirbazar to Chandrapur. NHIDCL presented DPR for National Highway from Jirania to Joynagar, Jiraniakhola, Bankimnagar, Mohanpur, via Ranirbazar, Meghlipara to Kalitola Bypass. ICA & DWS Minister and TLA Speaker also got acquainted about intricate details in the DPR.
ICA & DWS Minister said, different developmental works in the state are being implemented with the joint efforts of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. It was possible to create 8 National Highways due to their efforts. TLA Speaker informed the media that it has been directed to NHIDCL to expand NH road from Ranirbazar to Chandrapur. Later, they will let PWD to sign. Similarly, vehicles will be able to pass Amtali Bypass to different places including Sabroom, Belonia, Udaipur, Sonamura which will lessen the traffic in Agartala city.
