TPCC president and Congress- CPM electoral ally ( INDA Bloc) candidate for West tripura Lok Sabha constituency Asish Kumar Saha, accompanied by senior leaders from both the CPI-M and Congress parties, submitted his nomination papers to the Returning Officer, Dr. Vishal Kumar. Among those present were CPI-M state secretary Jiten Choudhury, Pabitra Kar, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and MLA Gopal Chandra Roy.
Despite an official announcement by MLA Sudip Roy Barman, Kanhaiya Kumar did not turn up in the event leading to speculation and dissatisfaction among some Congress activists.
The rally of the INDA Bloc could not be called impressive in comparison to BJP rally which took the carnival proportion. The Congress-CPM rally for Saha was appeared to have somehow managed to gather a considerably respectful gathering as he went to submit nomination papers to the Returning Officer.
On being asked Saha alleged a conspiracy by the ruling party, accusing them of influencing the administration to deny permission for Kanhaiya Kumar’s visit to Tripura.
Expressing confidence in the upcoming polls, Saha asserted that the people would vote to remove the BJP from power, criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and alleging corruption. He expressed belief in garnering support for the “I.N.D.I.A bloc” among voters.
This event underscores the political dynamics and tensions prevailing in Tripura ahead of the elections, as parties vie for support and strategize their campaign approaches.
In accordance with the electoral understanding between the CPM and Congress while Asish Kumar Saha TPCC president will fight it out in ther West Tripura constituency former MLA Rajendra Reang will contest as Left Front candidate in the East Tripura seat
