Arunachal Pradesh Governor K.T. Parnaik highlights empowered youth, communication skills, and discipline as pillars of a progressive society during Let’s Speak Arunachal programme, urging education, confidence, and English proficiency for future leadership and career success.

K. T. Parnaik, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, on Monday underscored the critical role of youth in nation-building, asserting that educated, disciplined, motivated, and articulate young individuals are the backbone of a progressive society.

Speaking at the “Let’s Speak Arunachal” youth interaction programme held at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar, the Governor emphasized the need to empower young minds with confidence, clarity of thought, and effective communication skills. He stated that such attributes are fundamental in shaping responsible citizens and nurturing future leaders capable of contributing meaningfully to society.

The programme, organised by the NGO Let’s Speak Arunachal in collaboration with the Governor’s Secretariat, aimed to inspire students to overcome hesitation and develop the ability to express themselves with confidence. Participants engaged in interactive sessions that highlighted the importance of public speaking and civic awareness.

Praising the initiative, the Governor lauded the organisation’s efforts in conducting workshops across the state to cultivate a culture of effective communication among young people. He reiterated that when youth are well-equipped with education, discipline, and self-expression, they become catalysts for social transformation and progress.

Drawing from his personal experiences, Lt Gen Parnaik urged parents and teachers to play an active role in fostering communication skills among children. He noted that consistent practice, encouragement, and proper mentorship at both home and school are crucial in helping students overcome stage fright and build confidence.

The Governor also highlighted the importance of English proficiency, describing it as an essential tool for career advancement and global engagement in an increasingly interconnected world. He stressed that strong communication skills, particularly in English, can open doors to wider opportunities and enhance an individual’s ability to participate in diverse professional environments.

Reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment, the Governor announced that the Governor’s Secretariat will soon organise a Debate Declamation competition at Lok Bhavan. The initiative aims to provide a structured platform for students to refine their speaking abilities, boost self-confidence, and engage in constructive dialogue. He further recommended that such programmes be regularly conducted in educational institutions across the state.

During the event, the Governor felicitated outstanding students and individuals who have significantly contributed to promoting public speaking through Let’s Speak Arunachal. The programme also featured an open platform where students shared personal experiences, reflecting on how participation in such initiatives has helped them overcome fear and develop confidence in public speaking.
