Indian squash player Anahat Singh created history by reaching the Women’s Singles final of the World Junior Squash Championships after defeating Egypt’s Barb Sameh 3-1 in the semi-final at Ontario, Canada, this morning.

The 18-year-old became the first Indian player to enter the final of the prestigious junior tournament. She will now face Egypt’s Ruqayya Salem in the title clash today at the same venue, the match is expected to begin around 10:30 PM IST.
Anahat is now just one victory away from becoming India’s first-ever World Junior squash champion and will look to cap her historic campaign with a title-winning performance.

Anahat secured her place in the last four after defeating Egypt’s Habiba Rizk 3-1 in the quarter-finals at Ontario, Canada, on Thursday. With that victory, she became the first Indian squash player to reach the World Junior Championships semi-finals in two consecutive years.

She had also reached the semi-finals in the 2025 edition, where she won a historic bronze medal after losing to Egypt’s Nadien Elhammamy. With her latest triumph, Anahat has gone one step further and continues to make history for Indian squash on the global stage.
