The All India Football Federation (AIFF) adopted the Supreme Court-approved constitution at its Special General Body Meeting at the AIFF Football House in New Delhi yesterday. Earlier, on the 19th of September, the Supreme Court had approved the draft constitution of the AIFF prepared by former SC judge L Nageswara Rao with certain modifications, and directed the federation to adopt it within four weeks. The draft constitution prohibits office-bearers from holding dual posts in the AIFF and state units. Moreover, any amendment to the Constitution will require a nod from the Supreme Court. In a statement, the AIFF said it adopted the revised constitution with 29 permanent members voting in favour of the resolution.
