Agartala Smart City Limited has inaugurated its first Data Centre, marking a significant technological advancement for the city. This development makes Agartala the first Smart City in India to establish its own dedicated data centre. The inauguration was conducted by prominent officials including Tripura Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Secretary of Urban Development Abhishek Singh, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Mission Director of Agartala Smart City Ltd, and Jeya Ragul Geshan, Director of Information and Technology.

Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav emphasized that this initiative positions Agartala Smart City Limited as a leader among smart cities in India. The data centre, previously managed in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, was constructed in just two months at a cost of Rs 30.72 crore.

This state-of-the-art facility is crucial for managing the city’s infrastructure, including CCTV systems, traffic monitoring points, and LED display boards, all connected through a 156-kilometre optical fibre network. The centre can store various types of data for up to 30 days, with options to retain specific data for longer periods if needed.

Operating 24/7, the data centre aims to enhance urban management and citizen safety, highlighting Agartala Smart City Limited’s commitment to utilizing technology for the benefit of its residents and supporting the city’s ongoing growth and development.
