Tripura Sundari Dance and Music Festival, a platform to showcase different cultural activities of different states of our country India, is likely to be organised by ‘Rupakalpam’ in accordance with the direction of ICA and DM & Collector of Gomati District.
Deputy Director of ICA-Gomati District said a decision has taken by ICA to conduct Tripura Sundari Dance and Music Festival this year on November 2 on the eve of Diwali. The proposal will be forwarded to DM & Collector of Gomati District in order to get permission for the same because there is an issue of funding for the programme.
Tripura Sundari Dance and Music Festival started in 2014. But for the last two years the programme could not be organised due to lack of financial support. Usually the programme is usually organized one day before Dewali mela.
A few days ago, the DM & Collector of Gomati District and other high officials of the district attended the preparatory meeting held in the Conference Hall of DM office, and discussed the matter.
It was decided that if any agency expressed willingness to organize a dance programme, then it could be done after obtaining prior permission from the DM & Collector, Gomati District. Final decision in this regard is likely to be taken tomorrow.
Sources of organising committee of ‘Rupakalpam ‘ said that they were ready to organise this festival but funding was the main issue. A conservative estimate that for such a programme an amount of about Rs:1.5 lakh would be required. The temple committee had arranged necessary fund in the previous years and they were expecting that the organising committee and DM & Collector might take a positive decision in this regard.
This type of dance programme is an extra attraction of Diwali in the state Tripura.
