Tripura’s Finance Minister, Pranajit Singha Roy, has instructed officials to expedite the implementation of projects planned for the fiscal year 2023–24, ensuring their completion within the same year.

During a meeting at the Secretariat, the finance minister reviewed the progress of Special Assistance Capital Schemes and urged departments to make efficient use of budget allocations to benefit the people.

The finance minister also instructed the officials to effectively utilise funds released by the central government within the current financial year.

Furthermore, the status of various externally-aided projects was discussed during the meeting, focusing on initiatives like sustainable catchment forest management, climate resilience of forest ecosystems, Agartala city urban development, and Tripura Power Generation Upgrade and Distribution Rehabilitation projects. The finance minister stressed the importance of implementing state projects announced under the Chief Minister’s name.

Following the meeting, Singha Roy informed the media that the state government’s budget allocation for the fiscal year 2023–24 is Rs. 27,654 crores.

He urged concerned departments to proactively implement projects with a particular emphasis on the development of indigenous communities, education, healthcare, and agriculture.
