Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Kavita Bahenji in charge of Prajapati Brahma Kumaris Iswariya University in Tripura and Bangladesh, breathed her last on Friday morning at a private hospital in Agartala. She was 55 years old and had been battling liver ailments.
Kavita Bahenji was admitted to a private hospital in Agartala on the preceding Friday, and she passed away at 6 am today. Her mortal remains were brought to the Lighthouse and later transported to the Aralia Head office.
As the news of her demise spread, individuals from various walks of life gathered at the Brahmkumaris Head Office at Aralia in Agartala to pay their last respects to a woman known for her unwavering love and affection.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha paid floral tributes and expressed deep shock at the sudden loss of Bahenji. Dr. Saha noted that Bahenji played a crucial role in helping young people break free from the clutches of drug addiction.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy also paid homage to the departed Rajyogini, and former Chief Minister and veteran CPIM leader Manik Sarkar offered his heartfelt tributes to Bahenji. Additionally, several eminent personalities visited the Aralia Head Office to pay their respects. Former Chief MInister and MP Biplab Kumar Deb also in his social media posts expressed grief and condolence at the untimely demise of Kavia Behenji.
Born on March 23, 1968, Bahenji’s spiritual journey began when she was just eight years old. She arrived in Agartala in April 1995 and has since dedicated herself to serving the people of the state. Under her guidance, the number of Brahma Kumaris centers in the state increased to 16.
Notably, Brahma Kumaris Iswariya University, under her inspiring leadership, launched a campaign against addiction and promoted a stress-free life. She also played a pivotal role in establishing Brahmakumaris’ centers in Bangladesh, strengthening the cordial relationship between the two countries.
A large number of Brahma Kumaris and followers participated in her final journey to the Battala crematorium this evening, bidding farewell to a beloved spiritual leader and mentor. Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Kavita Bahen’s legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire many.
