Bangladeshi Cattle lifter lynched

One cattle lifter was lynched at Kamalnagar area under Sonamura Police station in Tripura.

The incident took place on the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday.  The deceased cattle lifter is reported to be a Bangladeshi national.

A group of cattle lifters barged into the house of one Babul Pal. As the thieves tried to break open the doors of his cowshed, Babul Pal raised an alarm. Soon villagers surrounded the thieves – while two of them managed to flee, the third one was lynched. The body of the thief was left behind by the side of Boxanagar-Sonamura road.

In the scuffle, the brother of Babul Pal sustained head injuries after the thief who was lynched hit him with a sharp machete. The injured person is under treatment at GB hospital.

According to villagers, before dying, the thief told them that he and his accomplices came from Jambari area under Cumilla district in Bangladesh.
