In a major development, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury have successfully secured stoppage for long-distance trains at Jirania railway station. This achievement comes after the relentless efforts of the Chief Minister and the Transport Minister, who presented the proposal to Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw during a meeting held in New Delhi on April 19.

The people of the 10-Majlishpur constituency, including Jirania sub-division, are elated with this decision. The proposal, which received the acceptance of the Union Railway Minister, has now been implemented, allowing trains traveling from Agartala to halt at Jirania railway station.

To mark the occasion, the Transport Minister, along with other officials, was present at Jirania railway station during the first train’s stoppage on Saturday. The Transport Minister visited the station in the morning and personally inspected the facilities for boarding and disembarking of passengers on long-distance trains. During his visit, he also took the opportunity to interact with passengers and gather their feedback regarding the newly introduced stoppage.

Expressing his gratitude, Minister Chowdhury extended his thanks to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha for his unwavering support throughout the process. He also expressed his appreciation to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the proposal, which will significantly benefit the residents of Jirania and the surrounding areas.

The addition of Jirania as a stoppage for long-distance trains will enhance connectivity for the region, facilitating convenient travel for the residents. It will not only save time and effort but also provide greater accessibility to various destinations. The decision is expected to have a positive impact on both the local population and the overall development of the region.

With the introduction of stoppage at Jirania railway station, the government aims to ensure the convenience and satisfaction of passengers while promoting inclusive growth and connectivity across the region. The positive response from the public further reinforces the importance of this decision and its potential to contribute to the overall progress of the area.

As the newly implemented stoppage begins to benefit commuters, it is expected to encourage increased train usage and further boost the region’s transportation network.
