Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday said that he would not tolerate any corruption by any of the Panchayat representatives .
“I want full and fair utilization of the government funds that are handed over to the Panchayats for people’s welfare”, he said and then added : “we hiked the monthly honorarium of the Panchayat pradhans and upa-pradhans; I will take full account from them. The funds being sent by the government should go to the people, or else the pradhans and upa-pradhans will not be spared– no matter which party he or she represents.”
Deb also said the contractors who are engaged under Jal Jeevan Mission should not face any kind of obstruction. If any such incidents happen, the government is ready to take urgent steps, Deb told a party programme at Fatikroy.
The Chief Minister then asked the MLAs and elected representatives to take responsibility to ensure proper implementation of the scheme in their respective areas.
He was addressing an Unnayan Yatra Samabesh where 1733 people from 554 families joined the BJP. They were welcomed by the Chief Minister and other local leaders.
Speaking on the organizational matters, Deb said, Karyakartas are the foundation of the party; they need to build smooth relations with the people by soft behaviour.
“There was a time when the Leftists used to ignore people. But, the people gave them a proper reply in the 2018 elections,” he said while encouraging the BJP activists to devote themselves to ensure the party’s win in every booth in the 2023 elections.
Deb also stated that the state had already received 1.86 lakh houses under PMAY and the state would get more 1.30 lakh houses in two phases. He said the government was working on the goal so that every person gets pucca house. Among others, two ministers- Ram Prasad Paul and Bhagaban Das, Sabhadhipati of Unakoti Zilla Parishad- Amalendu Das, MLA Sudhangshu Das and Fatikroy mandal president Nilkanta Sinha were present in the programme. There was a huge gathering in the rally.
