Tripura is gearing up for the long-awaited Village Committee elections scheduled for tomorrow, with polling personnel beginning their journey to designated polling centres across the state amid tight security arrangements. The preparations gained momentum on Sunday morning as officials and security personnel worked to ensure that all arrangements were completed well ahead of polling.
The atmosphere at Ambassa RD Block reflected a mix of anticipation and urgency as polling staff departed from dispatch centres under the supervision of security forces. Authorities have placed special emphasis on ensuring that personnel reach their respective polling stations on time and complete all necessary preparations before voting begins.
The Village Committee elections hold particular significance as they are being conducted after a gap of ten years. The long interval has heightened public interest in the electoral process, particularly in areas under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

Returning Officer and Block Development Officer (BDO) Barnita Biswas said the administration has taken necessary measures to prevent any untoward incidents during the polling process. She said arrangements were being made to ensure that polling personnel reached their respective centres safely and that voting could be conducted peacefully.
Biswas also appealed to voters to exercise their democratic rights without fear and urged everyone to maintain a calm and peaceful atmosphere during the election. The administration has stressed the importance of cooperation from voters and all stakeholders to ensure the smooth conduct of polling.
The final preparations come amid heightened political and administrative activity across the ADC areas. With polling staff now moving to their designated centres, attention has shifted towards polling day and the conduct of voting across the state.
