‘IAADB 2026’ to Be Held From December 4 in New Delhi

The second edition of the India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale (IAADB) will be held from 4th December 2026 to 21st March 2027 in New Delhi.
 
 
The theme of this 108-day Biennale is ‘Tat Tvam Asi – Reconnecting in an Age of Distraction’. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Vivek Aggarwal said that, the Biennale will feature art installations at iconic heritage sites of the National Capital, including Purana Qila, Red Fort, Safdarjung Tomb, Qutub Minar, Qila Rai Pithora and Lodhi Garden. He said that the theme of this year’s Biennale directly takes inspiration from India’s ancient traditions and spiritual thought, which emphasize self-introspection and the unity of the individual with the larger universal consciousness.
 
 
 
Mr Aggarwal said that the Ministry aims to take IAADB to a global level by encouraging participation from international pavilions and artists, Indian states and the private sector.
 
 
Speaking about the cultural diplomacy of India, He said that cultural exchange is an important component of cultural diplomacy and the country’s soft power. Mr Aggarwal added that participation of foreign countries will provide an opportunity for Indian and international audiences to experience diverse art forms and will help position the Biennale on the global cultural calendar. 
 
 
Underlining the importance of Art and Design students in this Biennale, He said that the Ministry plans to involve students, particularly those pursuing art and design, in various activities associated with the Biennale, providing them opportunities to engage with artists and the wider creative ecosystem.
 
 
The second edition of the India Art, Architecture & Design Biennale 2026 is the largest platform which offers artists, curators, galleries, corporates, architects, designers, cultural institutions and other stakeholders a chance to connect with culture and the creative world. This edition is conceived not as a single exhibition in a single location but as a city-wide cultural platform. Visitors will have an opportunity to experience the historical monuments along with contemporary art installations.
