The council of ministers has decided to recruit one Neurosurgeon among seven doctors for GBP hospital.
The appointment of the seven doctors would be done on contract basis, said ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury in a press conference on Tuesday.
“The cabinet decided to appoint one Neurosurgeon in GBP hospital. As per the decision, seven doctors will be recruited in the posts of Neurosurgeon, Assistant Anaesthetist and Medical officers on contract basis,” he said after the cabinet meeting.
Speaking to the media, Chowdhury said 2525 patients availed treatment in Neurosurgery OPD of the GBP hospital from 2019 to September 25, this year. Among them, successful surgery of 459 persons was conducted. He said another medical facility- cardiothoracic surgery would soon be introduced in the state.
In another important decision, Chowdhury said, the state government revised the pay structure of the regular faculties working in Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (RIPSAT) as per the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission.
He said, earlier there was no recommendation of Seventh Pay Commission. So, the state government would bear the salary from now onwards.
Meanwhile, the state government also hiked the honorarium of the chairman of Tripura Commission for Protection of Child Rights from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10,000. The honorarium of the other members was also increased from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 5000.
