Tripura women SHGs gain national recognition as Khachuk Chocolate and Butterfly Pea Flower Tea feature in IndiGo’s September 2026 Hello 6E magazine, showcasing grassroots entrepreneurship, women-led innovation, sustainable livelihoods and the growing market reach of rural products from Tripura.

Women-led entrepreneurship in Tripura, products developed by women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) have reached a national platform after being featured in the September 2026 edition of Hello 6E, the in-flight magazine of IndiGo Airlines.

The featured products are Khachuk Chocolate, crafted by women SHG members in South Tripura, and Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, produced by the women of Star Mahila Dal in Gomati district. Their inclusion in the magazine marks an important milestone for the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), which has been working to promote grassroots entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods and women-led innovation across the state.

The recognition provides the SHG members with greater visibility beyond Tripura and offers an opportunity to showcase locally developed products to a wider consumer base. For the women involved, the feature represents more than commercial exposure, as it also serves as recognition of their creativity, skills and determination to transform locally available resources and traditional capabilities into market-ready products.

TRLM has played an important role in supporting women’s collectives by encouraging product development, branding, packaging and market outreach. Through these efforts, rural women have been able to move beyond traditional livelihood activities and explore new avenues of entrepreneurship and income generation.

The appearance of Khachuk Chocolate and Butterfly Pea Flower Tea in Hello 6E is expected to strengthen their visibility and potentially create new opportunities for marketing and consumer demand. Being showcased through a national airline’s in-flight magazine also places the products before travellers from different parts of the country, providing an important platform for promoting Tripura’s emerging rural enterprises.

Officials associated with TRLM expressed pride over the achievement and highlighted it as a reflection of the mission’s broader objective of empowering women through sustainable economic opportunities. The recognition demonstrates how consistent support for SHGs can help transform grassroots ideas into products capable of reaching wider markets.

The achievement also highlights the expanding role of women’s collectives in Tripura’s rural economy. SHGs across the state are increasingly contributing to product innovation, entrepreneurship and household income while promoting locally rooted skills and resources.

From South Tripura’s Khachuk Chocolate to Gomati district’s Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, the featured products demonstrate the potential of women-led enterprises to carry Tripura’s local creativity to national platforms.

The recognition in Hello 6E is therefore being viewed as an encouraging development for the state’s SHG movement. It reinforces the potential of rural women entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses, strengthen local economies and establish Tripura-made products in wider consumer markets.

With grassroots entrepreneurship gaining greater visibility, the achievement of these SHG members is expected to encourage more rural women to explore innovation, branding and new market opportunities. The recognition further underscores TRLM’s efforts to connect women-led enterprises with larger markets while strengthening the economic empowerment of rural communities across Tripura.
