Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy launched four new NextGen HRMS modules at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, advancing digital governance, transparent administration and efficient human resource management while enabling faster employee services, online leave processing and streamlined pension procedures across government departments.
Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Tuesday launched four new modules under the NextGen Human Resource Management System (HRMS) at a state-level official ceremony held at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, marking another significant step towards strengthening digital governance and modernising human resource management in the state government.
Speaking at the programme, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said that the state government is taking several initiatives to ensure timely delivery of public services through digital and transparent systems. He described NextGen HRMS as an important initiative aimed at making government administration more advanced, technology-driven, transparent and efficient.
The Finance Minister said the new digital system would help streamline various processes related to government employees while reducing delays in administrative procedures. According to him, the initiative will contribute to Tripura’s broader efforts to build a technology-enabled administrative system and move towards the vision of Digital Tripura.
Referring to the country’s digital transformation initiatives, Singha Roy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been implementing various programmes under the broader vision of Digital India. Following this direction, Tripura is also taking steps to expand the use of technology in government administration and public service delivery.
The Finance Minister highlighted that e-Office has already been introduced across government offices in the state. The implementation of NextGen HRMS is expected to further strengthen this digital ecosystem by maintaining comprehensive service-related information of government employees in an integrated system.
Under the NextGen HRMS platform, details covering an employee’s service journey, from the date of joining to retirement, will be digitally registered. The system is also expected to facilitate faster and more accurate processing of pension-related matters when employees retire.
Another key feature of the system is online leave application. Government employees will be able to apply for leave digitally, with the information being recorded in their respective service books. This is expected to reduce paperwork and make employee-related administrative processes more convenient and efficient.
Singha Roy congratulated officials of the Finance Department for taking forward the initiative and emphasised the importance of technology in improving government administration and service delivery.
As part of the state-level launching programme, the Finance Minister and other dignitaries also inaugurated the New Pension Proposal Rule Book, the DDO’s Handbook and the newly introduced HRMS modules.
Finance Department Secretary Dr. Prashant Kumar Goyal explained the features and significance of the new digital service system during the programme. He said that with the introduction of NextGen HRMS, data relating to government employees would be securely maintained, helping create a more systematic and reliable human resource management framework.
The programme began with a welcome address by Additional Secretary of the Finance Department Akinchan Sarkar. Principal Accountant General Shailendra Vikram Singh, Accountant General Ranendra Sarkar, Senior Deputy Accountant General Tanushree Biswas, officials of the Finance Department and representatives of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) were among those present.

A documentary highlighting the features and objectives of NextGen HRMS was also screened during the ceremony.
The launch of the four new modules is expected to further support Tripura’s digital governance agenda by improving administrative efficiency, enhancing transparency and enabling government employees to access key services through a technology-driven platform.
