Goa Government to launch ‘Goa Ujjwala Scheme’ on Sept 5

Must Read

The Goa Government will launch the ‘Goa Ujjwala Scheme’ on September 5, providing financial assistance equivalent to the cost of three domestic LPG cylinders every year to eligible household LPG and PNG consumers. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said ₹3,000 will be directly transferred into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The Civil Supplies Department has made a provision of ₹100 crore for the scheme. There is no income criterion for availing the benefit. However, only one domestic gas connection per family will be eligible. Existing Griha Aadhar and Deen Dayal Social Security Scheme beneficiaries can apply by submitting the scheme application and bank passbook. A separate application will be available for open-category beneficiaries. Applications will be available at panchayat and municipal offices. The first instalment is expected to be credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts on September 9 or 10.
