Prashant Kishor targets Bihar government over police encounters, education and private-school fees, while promising better government schools and jobs for 10,000 Bankipur families.
Prashant Kishor, chief of the Jan Suraaj Party and newly elected MLA from Bankipur, has stepped up his criticism of the Bihar government, making education, employment and accountability key priorities for his constituency. During a visit to Ward No. 16 of the Bankipur Assembly constituency in Patna, Kishor thanked voters for his decisive electoral victory and outlined several commitments concerning local development and public welfare.
Kishor’s remarks came after the Bihar Government announced financial assistance and a government job for a family member of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari. While acknowledging the decision as a positive development, he argued that compensation and employment alone could not constitute complete justice for the family.
According to Kishor, genuine accountability would require determining who ordered and carried out the alleged firing. He called for a judicial inquiry to establish individual responsibility and said that those found guilty should face legal consequences under the law.
The Jan Suraaj leader also questioned whether similar assistance should be provided to families of other young people who have died in police encounters. He specifically referred to the family of Bunty Yadav and argued that government relief should follow a consistent policy rather than being limited to a particular case for political reasons.
Kishor used the gathering to sharpen his criticism of the Bihar government and Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. He claimed that the Bankipur election result had increased pressure on the government to respond to questions surrounding police encounters. He also alleged that the electoral outcome had influenced the government’s decision to provide assistance to Tiwari’s family.
Apart from law-and-order concerns, Kishor focused strongly on education. He raised concerns about the financial burden faced by parents because of private-school fees, including expenses related to re-admission and uniforms. He said he would meet school administrators to discuss ways to reduce such costs for families.
Kishor further promised a qualitative improvement in government schools across the Bankipur area by next year’s Dussehra. He said that if the promised improvements fail to materialise, he would personally take responsibility for helping affected families enrol their children in private schools and would pay their fees.
Employment was another major part of Kishor’s political programme for Bankipur. He announced an ambitious target of facilitating employment opportunities for at least one educated person from each of 10,000 families in the constituency. The initiative is particularly aimed at educated young people who are currently unemployed and looking for private-sector opportunities.
The employment commitment builds on Kishor’s earlier pledge to connect 10,000 Bankipur youths with jobs in the private sector. By placing employment alongside education and public accountability, he has sought to define the early priorities of his tenure as Bankipur MLA.

Supporters at the Ward No. 16 gathering celebrated Kishor’s victory by weighing him against laddus, adding a festive element to the event. However, Kishor used the occasion primarily to highlight issues he said directly affect residents, including school expenses, unemployment and accountability in cases involving police action.
His latest statements indicate that education reform, employment generation and government accountability are likely to remain central themes of his political agenda in Bankipur. The promises will also place pressure on the government and local administration to respond to concerns over public services and employment opportunities raised by the newly elected MLA.
