Tripura govt dismissed CHO recruitment paper leak allegations after an official probe confirmed the NHM examination was conducted transparently. Chief Minister’s Secretary Kiran Gitte urged candidates to trust the fair recruitment process for 126 Community Health Officer posts.
The Tripura government on Thursday categorically dismissed allegations of a paper leak in the recruitment examination for Community Health Officers (CHOs) under the National Health Mission (NHM), stating that an official inquiry found no evidence of malpractice and confirmed that the entire recruitment process was conducted in a transparent and fair manner.
Addressing a press conference at the Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister’s Secretary Kiran Gitte said that the state government acted promptly after a section of candidates raised concerns regarding the examination. A high-level probe committee was constituted to investigate the allegations and examine every aspect of the recruitment process.
According to Gitte, the committee carried out a comprehensive inquiry into the conduct of the examination, including the procedures followed before, during, and after the test. After reviewing all relevant records and facts, the committee concluded that there was no unfair practice and that the allegations of a paper leak were baseless.
The recruitment examination for 126 Community Health Officer posts under the National Health Mission was conducted on February 1 across 12 examination centres in Tripura by the designated recruitment agency. A total of 2,614 candidates appeared for the examination, while the results were officially declared on July 15.
Gitte pointed out that no complaints regarding a paper leak or examination irregularities were received before the declaration of the results. It was only after the publication of the results that some candidates raised objections, prompting the government to initiate an independent investigation to ensure complete transparency and maintain public confidence.
The findings of the probe committee reaffirmed that the examination process was conducted strictly in accordance with established guidelines and without any irregularities. Gitte appealed to all candidates to place their trust in the official recruitment mechanism and avoid being influenced by unverified claims or misinformation.
He reiterated that the state government remains committed to conducting all recruitment examinations in a fair, transparent, and accountable manner while safeguarding the interests of deserving candidates.

NHM Tripura Mission Director Saju Vaheed A was also present during the press conference and reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency in the recruitment process under the National Health Mission. The government expressed hope that the probe findings would reassure candidates and strengthen confidence in the state’s recruitment system.
