Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday inaugurated seven development projects worth Rs 8.09 crore in Khowai district, reaffirming the Tripura government’s commitment to building a developed and progressive state through improved infrastructure, quality healthcare, education, and public welfare.

Speaking at a programme held at the Khowai Town Hall, the Chief Minister described the occasion as a significant milestone in the district’s development journey. The newly inaugurated projects, implemented by the Education, Rural Development, Social Welfare and Social Education, Urban Development, and Drinking Water and Sanitation departments, involve a total investment of Rs 8,09,13,000.

On the occasion, Dr. Saha also distributed eight Smart OPD Kits to doctors under the Health Department to improve healthcare delivery, particularly in remote and underserved areas of Khowai district. He said the technology-enabled initiative would ensure faster, more efficient, and accessible medical services for people living in difficult-to-reach locations.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the newly launched projects would mark the beginning of a new chapter by providing safer, more convenient, and improved public services for the residents of Khowai. He emphasized that these initiatives would strengthen essential infrastructure while contributing to the long-term vision of “Viksit Tripura” (Developed Tripura).

Dr. Saha stated that the government’s priority remains delivering affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare to every citizen. He added that the Smart OPD Kits would enhance the efficiency of doctors and improve healthcare services in rural and remote regions through the use of modern technology.

During his district visit, the Chief Minister also inaugurated two newly renovated AI-enabled Anganwadi Centres—Shaishab Anganwadi Centre in Ward No. 4 and Ananda Neer Anganwadi Centre in Ward No. 7 under the Khowai Municipal Council. Renovated at a cost of Rs 24.24 lakh, the centres are designed to provide improved nutrition, early childhood education, and a modern learning environment for children.

The upgraded Anganwadi centres are expected to play an important role in promoting holistic child development while supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen social welfare infrastructure across the state.

The programme was attended by Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Khowai Zilla Sabhadhipati Aparna Singha Roy, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, Khowai Municipal Council Chairman Debashish Nath Sharma, District Magistrate Rajat Pant, senior officials, and other dignitaries.
