Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday urged students to focus not only on academic excellence but also on developing themselves into responsible citizens capable of contributing to the nation and society. He made the remarks while attending a felicitation programme organised to honour meritorious students from the Town Bardowali Assembly constituency who secured 60 per cent or above in this year’s Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations.
The programme was held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Town Hall in Agartala, where hundreds of students, parents, teachers and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the achievements of young scholars. The event recognised the hard work, dedication and perseverance of students who excelled in the state board examinations.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that today’s students are the future of the country and will play a decisive role in shaping the nation’s progress. He stressed that while academic success is important, students must also cultivate values such as honesty, discipline, compassion and responsibility.
“Today’s students are the future of tomorrow. The younger generation has a significant role in nation-building and social development. Therefore, along with becoming good students, they must also strive to become good human beings and responsible citizens,” the Chief Minister said.

Dr. Saha expressed happiness at being part of the felicitation ceremony and congratulated every student who received recognition for their outstanding academic performance. He said the achievements of these students would inspire many others to work hard and pursue excellence in education.
