After drawing enthusiastic crowds in Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Jorhat, the latest Fan Park aims to bring together football lovers from across Lakhimpur to enjoy live World Cup action on giant screens in a vibrant community setting.
Organised by the Lakhimpur district administration under the patronage of local MLA Manab Deka, the CM FIFA Fan Park has been designed to recreate the atmosphere of a football stadium for supporters who gather to watch the late-night World Cup matches. The initiative allows fans to experience the excitement of the tournament collectively despite the significant time difference between India and the World Cup host nation.
The Fan Park is expected to attract thousands of football enthusiasts, including youngsters, families and supporters of different national teams. “In India, cricket is undoubtedly a religion. But at the same time, in the Northeast, football is the heartbeat,” Deka said.

According to him, the CM FIFA Fan Park initiative has been introduced to ensure that football supporters can experience the thrill of the FIFA World Cup in a festive environment without travelling far from their hometowns.
