Tripura launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) at Agartala Town Hall, where appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited candidates. Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma highlighted the scheme’s role in employment generation, youth empowerment, skill development, and strengthening India’s vision of self-reliance and growth.

A special programme marking the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) was held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Town Hall in Agartala on Friday, highlighting the Centre’s commitment to employment generation, youth empowerment, and skill development across the country.

The event was organised by the Agartala Regional Office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment. The programme witnessed the distribution of offer and appointment letters to ten newly recruited individuals, symbolising the beginning of a new employment-linked initiative aimed at expanding formal workforce participation and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Tripura’s Tribal Welfare and Statistics Minister Bikash Debbarma said the PMVBRY reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering India’s youth through employment, entrepreneurship, and skill enhancement. He stated that the initiative seeks to address unemployment concerns while opening new avenues of growth for young people across the nation.

Debbarma described the occasion as an inspiring chapter in the journey towards building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He said the government remains committed to standing beside the aspirations, hard work, and success of the country’s youth, ensuring that development and employment opportunities reach every corner of the nation.

According to the minister, the scheme is expected to generate employment opportunities for nearly 15 lakh people across India. He expressed confidence that Tripura’s youth would significantly benefit from the programme and gain access to new opportunities in the formal employment sector.

“The vision of a developed India by 2047 can only be achieved through the active participation of our youth. Employment generation, skill development, and entrepreneurship promotion are essential pillars of this mission,” Debbarma said while addressing the gathering.

Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, who attended the event as the guest of honour, also underscored the importance of employment-linked schemes in accelerating economic growth and creating opportunities for the younger generation.

Officials present at the programme explained various features of PMVBRY, including incentives available to employees and employers, measures to encourage job creation, and efforts to strengthen workforce participation in the organised sector.

Representatives from different establishments, EPFO officials, beneficiaries, and invited guests participated in the programme. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to making employment, development, and self-reliance the driving forces behind India’s growth story.
