India’s Minakshi Hooda advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Cup 2026 in Guiyang, China, today. Minakshi secured a convincing 5-0 victory over Poland’s Natalia Kuczewska in the women’s 51kg round of 16 bout.
Four Indian boxers will be in quarter final action tomorrow. In the women’s 51kg category, Minakshi will face Kazakhstan’s Alua Balkibekova, while Saneh will take on Poland’s Kinga Krowka in the women’s 65kg division. Prachi is set to meet Chinese Taipei’s Chengyu Yang in the women’s 57kg quarter-finals. In the men’s competition, Nikhil will face Azerbaijan’s Amin Mammadzada in the 55kg category.
Meanwhile, In womens 48 kg category Jyoti and Jugnoo in 85kg division have already assured India of podium finishes after advancing to the semi-finals.
