In Archery, India’s Dhiraj Bommadevara and teenager Kumkum Mohod clinched the gold medal in recurve mixed team event at the World Cup Stage 3 at Antalya in Turkiye today. The Indian duo produced a brilliant display to upset reigning Olympic champions Oh Ye-jin and Kim Je-deok of South Korea 5-1 in the finals.
It was the first World Cup gold medal for both Dhiraj and Kumkum in the mixed team event. India’s last recurve mixed team gold at a World Cup stage also came in Antalya 2022, when Ridhi Phor and Tarundeep Rai defeated Great Britain’s Bryony Pitman and Alex Wise in a shoot-off.
