Tripura Police successfully rescued a missing housewife and her child from a hotel in Rajarhat, Kolkata, after an intensive investigation involving mobile tracking, CCTV analysis, and social media monitoring. The woman, missing from Sepahijala district, was reunited with her family, while police continue examining the circumstances behind her disappearance.

In a successful cross-state rescue operation, Jatrapur police under Tripura’s Sepahijala district traced and rescued a missing housewife along with her child from a hotel in Rajarhat, West Bengal, and reunited them with their family in Tripura.

According to police sources, Parmita Bhowmik (Majumdar), wife of Prasenjit Majumdar and a resident of Nirbhaypur, a border village under Jatrapur police station, had reportedly left her home on May 23 along with her child. Since her disappearance, family members had been making continuous efforts to locate her and sought assistance from the police.

Following the report of her disappearance, Jatrapur police launched an extensive investigation. Officials utilized modern investigative tools and techniques, including mobile phone tracking, analysis of CCTV camera footage, and monitoring of social media activities. These efforts eventually helped investigators identify the woman’s location at a hotel in Rajarhat, situated on the outskirts of Kolkata.

After receiving credible information about her whereabouts, a police team from Jatrapur police station immediately initiated a rescue mission. The team, accompanied by the woman’s husband and mother-in-law, travelled to Rajarhat to verify the information and ensure her safe return.

Upon reaching the hotel, the police team successfully located Parmita Bhowmik and her child. After completing the necessary formalities, the team brought both of them back to Tripura on Monday. The successful operation has brought immense relief to the woman’s family members as well as residents of Nirbhaypur village, who had been concerned about her safety.

Speaking on the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Jatrapur police station, Partha Nath Bhowmik, stated that the rescue operation was carried out promptly after investigators confirmed the woman’s location. He informed that the team, led by Sub-Inspector Bijoy Chakraborty, travelled to Rajarhat with the woman’s husband and mother-in-law and safely returned with the woman and her child.

Police officials said that the circumstances that prompted the woman to leave her home are still under examination. Authorities are trying to understand the factors behind her departure and are approaching the matter with sensitivity.

Meanwhile, police have advised the family not to subject the woman to any form of physical or mental harassment following her return. Officials emphasized that the reasons behind her leaving home should be understood carefully and compassionately. The police have assured that necessary support will be provided while the matter continues to be examined.
