Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has called for strengthening the BJP organization at the grassroots level and urged party workers to win all 10 CPI(M) Assembly seats in future elections. He warned against anti-party activities, highlighted Tripura’s development achievements, and expressed confidence in BJP’s leadership.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has delivered a strong political message to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers, urging them to intensify organizational efforts and ensure that all 10 Assembly seats currently held by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] are won by the BJP in the next state elections.
Addressing party workers and supporters during a felicitation programme for newly appointed Tripura BJP President Abhishek Debroy at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, Dr. Saha emphasized the need for a disciplined, ideologically committed, and grassroots-focused organization capable of expanding the party’s political influence across the state.
The Chief Minister asserted that the CPI(M) has lost its political relevance and described the party as “politically bankrupt.” He alleged that sections of the opposition were attempting to influence and weaken the BJP through misinformation campaigns on social media and other platforms. However, he maintained that the BJP remained firmly rooted in its ideology and organizational strength.
“People have already seen the Congress and the CPI(M). Today, the real face of the communists has been exposed. They have become politically bankrupt. Some people are spreading misleading narratives on social media and YouTube and are trying to corrupt the Bharatiya Janata Party in different ways. But BJP is not like Congress or Trinamool Congress. BJP stands on a strong ideological foundation,” Dr. Saha said.
The Chief Minister called upon party leaders to launch what he termed a “special drive” to politically eliminate the remaining influence of the CPI(M) in Tripura. He argued that since the Left party has lost ground in most parts of the country, similar efforts should be made in Tripura to further strengthen the BJP’s position.
According to Dr. Saha, misleading the public and spreading false information had become a political strategy of the CPI(M), and BJP workers must counter such narratives through public engagement and organizational outreach. He reiterated that the party’s objective should be to secure all 10 Assembly constituencies currently represented by the opposition.
The Chief Minister also strongly criticized the opposition over recent remarks concerning drug-related issues. Referring to statements made by the Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Saha claimed that the networks involved in narcotics activities were created during the Left Front government’s tenure and that law enforcement agencies are now taking strict action against those responsible.
“These drug mafias were created during their rule. Today, those involved are being arrested and brought to justice. That is why certain opposition leaders are reacting in this manner,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of party discipline, Dr. Saha warned that any form of anti-party activity would not be tolerated. He instructed party functionaries to maintain discipline, uphold the BJP’s ideology, and strengthen relations with people at the grassroots level.
The Chief Minister specifically cautioned against making derogatory remarks about the party on social media or engaging in activities that go against the party line. He stated that such actions would not receive any encouragement and that both the party organization and administrative machinery would take coordinated steps whenever necessary.
“Strengthening the BJP organization down to the booth level is extremely important. Workers must remain disciplined, committed to party ideology, and closely connected with the people. Any anti-party comments on social media or activities that violate party discipline will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the leadership of newly appointed state BJP President Abhishek Debroy, Dr. Saha said the party would move forward with renewed energy, fresh direction, and greater determination under his stewardship. He added that the BJP would continue to expand its organizational base and maintain its political dominance in the state.
The Chief Minister also highlighted several developmental achievements under the BJP-led government in Tripura. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed satisfaction with the reform and development initiatives undertaken in the state.
Dr. Saha pointed out that Tripura has emerged as one of the leading states in the Northeast in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth and per capita income. He noted that NITI Aayog has recognized Tripura as a front-runner state and that the state now ranks among the country’s top performers in literacy, following Goa and Mizoram.

He further highlighted improvements in the healthcare and education sectors, including a significant increase in MBBS and postgraduate medical seats and the establishment of a Dental College in the state.
Concluding his address, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that under the leadership of Abhishek Debroy, the Tripura BJP would become stronger, more dynamic, and more effective in serving the people while achieving new political milestones in the years ahead.
