Union Home Minister Amit Shah returned to Tripura more aggressive and more specific as he joined BJP’s poll campaign in the state. The Union Home Minister who took part in a Road show and rallies, maintained that CPM, Congress and TIPRA Motha were the three ‘misfortunes’ ( Triple Apad) of the Tripura politics. In Chandipur he said this time the fight would be held between the ‘double engines and the three misfortunes’.
Shah also held a Road Show with Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and party president Rajib Bhattacharjee in the city.
While addressing a rally at Bishramganj in Sepahijala district, Shah called upon the electors to vote for the BJP and reject the Cong-CPM alliance as it would only mean the Communists coming to power and a jungle raj is being established once again.
The Home Minister also touched upon the ‘good works’ that the BJP IPFT government delivered in the past five years.
He maintained that while major promises of the BJP’s poll manifesto including scooty for college-going girl students and hike in farmer’s benefit from Rs.6000 to Rs.8000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi were already implemented, by 2025, every eligible family would get a house under PMAY and 50,000 college girls will get Scooties, Rs. 200 crore would be invested in the tea and rubber industries, farmers would get Rs 8000 annually and every tea worker’s family would be allotted two Ganda.
The Union Home Minister also pointed out that the Bru refugee settlements were done by this government with rehabilitation of about 37,000 displaced Reangs.
Shah claimed while there had been several cases of corruptions during the Communist rule, there was not a single case of corruption in the five-year rule of BJP in Tripura.
“Drug peddling and its extreme menace were at the peak of the Left regime and the BJP, after coming to power in 2018 launched a war against drugs to make Tripura a drugs drug-free state,” he said.
