Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha introduced virtual participation in Mukhyamantri Samipeshu, enabling citizens from remote districts to directly share grievances, seek healthcare, agricultural, and financial assistance, while improving participatory governance and faster grievance redressal across the state.
The Tripura government has expanded Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s flagship public outreach initiative, “Mukhyamantri Samipeshu,” by introducing virtual participation, a move aimed at making citizen engagement more accessible for people living in remote and far-flung districts of the state.
The initiative is expected to significantly reduce the difficulties faced by residents who previously had to travel to Agartala to present their grievances and concerns directly before the Chief Minister. Through the newly launched virtual interaction system, citizens can now communicate with the state leadership from their respective districts, improving access to administrative support and accelerating grievance redressal.
During the latest session of the programme held on Thursday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha virtually interacted with residents from Dhalai district. Participants raised a range of issues concerning healthcare, agriculture, crop damage, and financial assistance. The Chief Minister listened to their concerns and immediately directed the concerned departments and district officials to initiate necessary measures for prompt resolution.
One of the most sensitive cases highlighted during the interaction involved an elderly tribal woman from Dhalai district who has reportedly been suffering from a serious skin-related ailment for nearly a decade. Speaking virtually with the Chief Minister, the woman appealed for medical assistance and better treatment facilities.
Responding swiftly, Dr. Saha instructed the Dhalai District Magistrate along with Health Department officials to arrange her immediate transfer to the Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital for advanced medical treatment. The prompt response drew appreciation from participants attending the virtual programme.
Apart from healthcare-related concerns, several residents also discussed the challenges faced by farmers due to crop damage. Participants urged the government to provide necessary support and compensation to affected cultivators. Others sought financial aid and assistance for various social and economic difficulties.
After hearing the grievances, the Chief Minister directed officials to take appropriate action and ensure that affected individuals receive timely support. Officials from various departments were also instructed to monitor the progress of the cases discussed during the programme.
Mukhyamantri Samipeshu has emerged as one of the Tripura government’s most prominent public outreach initiatives, designed to establish direct communication between citizens and the administration. The programme allows people to voice their concerns directly before the Chief Minister, enabling faster intervention and administrative accountability.
The addition of virtual participation is being viewed as a major step toward inclusive governance, particularly for residents of distant districts where transportation and connectivity challenges often prevent people from travelling to the state capital. By enabling online interaction from district headquarters and designated centres, the government aims to make public services more citizen-friendly and efficient.
Officials believe the digital expansion of the programme will further strengthen participatory governance in Tripura by ensuring that administrative support reaches people more quickly and transparently. The initiative is also expected to encourage greater public involvement in governance while bridging the gap between the government and citizens living in rural and remote areas of the state.
