BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb addressed the Art of Living Foundation’s 45th anniversary in Bengaluru, highlighting India’s spiritual heritage, cultural resilience, Sanatan values, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership while expressing confidence in India emerging as a global spiritual and economic leader.

A strong message centred on spirituality, nationalism, and India’s cultural identity was delivered by former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb during a major gathering organised to mark the 45th anniversary of the Art of Living Foundation in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Addressing a large audience of devotees, spiritual seekers, and followers, Deb stated that India’s real strength lies not merely in economic progress or military capabilities, but in its deep-rooted spiritual traditions and civilizational heritage. He asserted that no force in the world could “erase, bend, or break” India because of the resilience of its ancient values and cultural foundations.

Beginning his address by paying tribute to spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Deb said India has always been recognised globally as a land of spirituality, philosophical wisdom, and moral guidance. According to him, every nation carries a distinct identity, and India’s defining identity is its spiritual depth and cultural continuity stretching back thousands of years.

The BJP MP praised the worldwide expansion of the Art of Living movement and highlighted the global influence of its founder. Referring to the organisation’s completion of 45 years, Deb noted that the movement has successfully spread India’s spiritual teachings to people across 185 countries. He said the teachings of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar have helped millions of individuals overcome stress, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and mental pressure in today’s fast-paced modern life.

During his speech, Deb emphasized that despite rapid advancements in technology, industrial development, and material prosperity, people around the world continue searching for peace of mind and emotional stability. He argued that spirituality remains essential in maintaining balance in human life and described India as a nation uniquely positioned to provide such guidance to the world.

The former Tripura Chief Minister also spoke extensively about India’s ancient spiritual and intellectual legacy. Referring to revered figures such as Gautama Buddha, Mahavir, and Guru Gobind Singh, Deb said India has historically shown the path of spirituality, ethics, and wisdom to humanity. He also mentioned Nalanda University, describing it as the world’s first university where students and seekers from different countries once gathered to pursue knowledge and spiritual learning.

Highlighting the significance of Sanatan culture, Deb said India’s civilizational strength continues to inspire people across the globe even in contemporary times. He observed that the country’s diversity, ranging from mountains and deserts to oceans, languages, traditions, and intellectual heritage, makes India unique among world nations.

The MP also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the country has received a new direction under his governance. Deb credited Modi with strengthening India’s global standing and transforming the nation into the world’s fifth-largest economy. According to him, India’s growing influence on the international stage reflects both economic progress and renewed confidence in its cultural identity.

One of the major themes of Deb’s address was the vision of India becoming a “Vishwaguru,” or global guide. Expressing confidence in the country’s future, he stated that India would soon emerge not only as a leading economic power but also as the world’s foremost spiritual destination. He added that people from across the world would increasingly come to India seeking employment opportunities, spiritual guidance, and a meaningful way of life rooted in peace and human values.
