Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath reviewed major electricity projects in Agartala, stressing faster implementation, stronger power infrastructure, uninterrupted electricity supply, and improved public services to modernize the state’s energy network and support economic development.
A renewed effort to modernize electricity infrastructure and improve public services took center stage in Tripura on Tuesday as Chief Minister Manik Saha chaired a high-level review meeting with the state Power Department at the TIFT Conference Hall in Agartala. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of ongoing projects, identifying major implementation challenges, and accelerating initiatives aimed at strengthening electricity services across the state.
The review meeting was attended by senior officials of the Power Department and the Tripura State Electricity Corporation, along with Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath. Discussions centered on the current status of key development projects, future planning strategies, and measures required to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for both urban and rural areas.
During the meeting, officials presented updates on several critical projects related to transmission upgrades, power distribution systems, rural electrification, and infrastructure expansion. The government reviewed the pace of implementation and examined the technical and administrative hurdles that continue to affect timely completion of important works.

Chief Minister Dr. Saha emphasized the need for faster execution of projects and directed officials to maintain strict monitoring of ongoing works. He stated that reliable electricity services remain essential for economic development, industrial growth, educational progress, and the overall welfare of citizens. According to officials present at the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed that the state government is committed to ensuring that every household receives dependable and improved power services.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the review covered both existing development activities and long-term plans of the Power Department and the Tripura State Electricity Corporation. He noted that the government is working toward building a stronger electricity network capable of meeting increasing demand while also improving service quality for consumers.

The minister further stated that discussions included challenges faced during project implementation, including technical bottlenecks and infrastructure limitations in certain regions. Officials explored solutions to speed up work and improve coordination between departments to prevent delays in major power-related projects.
The review meeting also highlighted the government’s focus on accountability and efficiency within the power sector. Senior officials were reportedly instructed to ensure timely completion of projects and maintain transparency in implementation processes. The administration believes that strengthening electricity infrastructure is necessary to support Tripura’s broader development agenda and attract future investment opportunities.
In his remarks during the session, Chief Minister Dr. Saha stated that the review meeting aimed to evaluate the progress of ongoing works and ensure the timely implementation of projects designed to strengthen the state’s power supply system. He reaffirmed that improving electricity services for the people remains a top priority for the government.
