Tripura CM Manik Saha reviews post-poll violence, orders strict action to restore law and order. High-level meetings with party leaders and security officials focus on relief measures, public safety, and preventing further unrest after TTAADC election results.

Fresh concerns over post-election unrest prompted urgent deliberations at the highest level of the state government, as Chief Minister Manik Saha convened back-to-back meetings with political leaders and top officials to assess the situation and chart an immediate response.

Officials confirmed on Wednesday that the chief minister has directed security agencies and the administration to take strict and swift action to restore law and order following reports of violence in several areas after the declaration of the TTAADC election results. The review meetings were held late in the evening at his official residence, reflecting the seriousness of the emerging situation.

Reports from multiple locations indicate incidents of vandalism, attacks on houses, and injuries to civilians, allegedly carried out by miscreants in the aftermath of the polls. The developments have raised concerns about public safety and stability in sensitive regions.

During the first high-level meeting, the chief minister interacted with senior leaders of the ruling party, including ministers, MLAs, and Janajati representatives. The discussions focused on gathering ground-level feedback and understanding the extent of the damage caused by the violence. Leaders also shared inputs on relief measures and strategies to support affected families.

The chief minister emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to provide immediate assistance to victims and to reinforce confidence among local communities. Suggestions were invited from party representatives to strengthen outreach and ensure that relief reaches all those impacted without delay.

In a subsequent बैठक, Manik Saha held detailed discussions with top administrative and security officials, including Chief Secretary J K Sinha, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, and Director General of Police Anurag. Representatives from central and state security forces such as the Border Security Force, Tripura State Rifles, and Assam Rifles were also present.

Officials said the chief minister issued clear instructions to ensure immediate restoration of peace and prevent any escalation. Law enforcement agencies have been directed to identify those responsible for the violence and initiate strict legal action against them. Increased patrolling and deployment of security personnel in vulnerable areas have also been ordered.

“Peace and normalcy must be ensured for common people,” the chief minister stressed during the review, underlining the administration’s commitment to safeguarding citizens irrespective of political affiliations.
