In Tamil Nadu, campaigning has reached a feverish pitch along with the summer temperatures. Senior BJP leader and Union Health Minister JP Nadda today released the party manifesto. While addressing the meeting, he said, it was time that the NDA should come to power in the state for the betterment and the growth of the State. 
DMK Chief and Chief Minister MK Stalin campaigned at Vellore in support of party candidate. He listed out the government’s achievements. He questioned the Union Government on the urgent Special Parliament session and said that it was a divisive tactics during elections. He also criticised AIADMK leader Edappadi Palanisamy for turning a blind eye on the prices and availability of petrol, diesel, LPG and CNG. 
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palanisamy during his campaign speech at Tiruchirapalli criticized the DMK rule alleging the deterioration of law and order in the State. He also campaigned at Theni district along with TTV Dhinakaran where former Chief Minister and DMK candidate O Panneerselvam is in the fray. 
BJP leader K Annamalai campaigned at Madathukulam for the AMMK candidate. He said that the DMK is concerned only about dynastic rule and is not bothered about the welfare of the people. He accused the DMK of being overconfident and said that it was time for a change in governance of the State. TVK founder Vijay campaigned at Coimbatore and Tirupur. Addressing the crowd, Vijay said that his party manifesto will be released on 16th of this month. DMK youth wing leader and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in his campaigning at Kanyakumari listed out the achievements of the DMK Government and welfare measures for students and women.
