Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said that in the changing scenario of geopolitics, climate change, and economic security in the current era, the role of Critical minerals has become important. Addressing the roadshow for the 2nd round of Exploration License auction and 7th round of Critical and Strategic Mineral Blocks auction in HICC, Hyderabad, he stated that every country’s future is now based on critical minerals.
He stated that so far, 46 critical mineral blocks have been successfully auctioned in 6 rounds, and the auction process for 19 blocks is being initiated in the 7th round. He said that the government has completely scrapped import duties on 24 critical minerals, and two Vanadium and Titanium blocks in Telangana are ready for auction. The central government is also exploring mineral resources in countries like Australia and Argentina. The Minister called upon stakeholders to cooperate to make India a global leader in the mineral sector, stating that every individual should contribute to this goal.
