Postal voting begins for poll personnel in Dharmanagar by-election, ensuring smooth, fair, and secure participation. Election officials confirm steady turnout, strong security arrangements, and seamless early voting process ahead of the 56 Dharmanagar Assembly constituency polls.

Postal ballot voting for polling personnel engaged in the by-election to the 56 Dharmanagar Assembly constituency commenced smoothly on Friday, officials confirmed. The exercise marks a crucial step in ensuring that election duty staff can cast their votes ahead of the main polling day.

The voting process is being conducted at the hall of Bir Bikram Institution, where polling officials, including security personnel assigned to election duties, are participating in the early voting system through ballot boxes. The arrangement is in line with standard election procedures that allow on-duty personnel to exercise their franchise without disruption to election responsibilities.

Returning Officer Debyani Choudhury stated that a total of 159 eligible voters are expected to cast their votes via postal ballot. She assured that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and efficient voting process.

“The polling for election duty staff is being conducted smoothly, with proper arrangements and monitoring in place,” Choudhury said. Administrative sources confirmed that the voting is scheduled over two days, from April 3 to April 4, between 9 am and 5 pm.

Officials present at the venue reported a steady turnout during the initial hours, with polling personnel participating in an orderly and disciplined manner. Authorities have emphasized that adequate security and logistical measures have been implemented to maintain a free, fair, and peaceful voting environment.

The by-election in Dharmanagar has necessitated this early voting arrangement, ensuring that those responsible for conducting the election are not deprived of their voting rights. Security agencies and election staff have been provided with a structured and secure environment to complete the process without inconvenience.
