Tripura launches a powerful 100-day public health campaign targeting malnutrition, tuberculosis, and adolescent health, aiming to reach over 6,400 beneficiaries through intensive grassroots interventions, health camps, and coordinated efforts by NHM, NEEPCO, and medical institutions.

The government of Tripura has launched a comprehensive 100-day Integrated Campaign focusing on malnutrition, tuberculosis (TB), and adolescent health. The initiative was formally inaugurated at the Civil Secretariat under the leadership of Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Kiran Gitte.

The campaign, jointly organized by the National Health Mission (NHM) Tripura, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), and Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College, aims to address critical gaps in healthcare accessibility and disease detection in select regions of the state.

Under this initiative, a total of 44 health camps will be conducted across key districts. In Sepahijala district, Kathalia and Mohanbhog blocks will host 35 camps, while Ganganagar block in Dhalai district will see 9 camps. Each camp is expected to cater to approximately 200 individuals, with the overall target set at reaching nearly 6,400 beneficiaries during the 100-day period.

The campaign will prioritize vulnerable groups, including infants, young children, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and adolescents aged 15 to 19 years. A wide range of essential health services will be delivered at the grassroots level, including malnutrition screening, tuberculosis detection, hemoglobin testing for anemia, adolescent health counseling, nutrition awareness programs, and early pregnancy detection.

Medical teams will lead the field operations, supported by structured monitoring at block and state levels. District Chief Medical Officers will supervise the activities to ensure effective implementation and timely delivery of services. The campaign also emphasizes strengthening referral systems to ensure patients requiring specialized care are promptly directed to appropriate healthcare facilities.

Addressing the gathering at the launch event, Kiran Gitte stressed the importance of preparedness and vigilance. He urged all departments involved to maintain uninterrupted service delivery and actively counter misinformation related to public health issues.

Officials from NEEPCO and Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College also attended the inauguration, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the state’s healthcare initiatives.
