Donald Trump claims decisive US victory over Iran, announces 10-day pause for negotiations, warns of renewed strikes if talks fail, and highlights destruction of Iran’s military infrastructure, raising global tensions over nuclear threats and geopolitical stability.

In a dramatic escalation of rhetoric surrounding US-Iran tensions, former US President Donald Trump has declared that American forces have “totally won the war” against Iran, while simultaneously offering a 10-day window for negotiations before considering further military action.

Speaking during a phone interview on the The Five on Fox News, Trump asserted that the United States had effectively dismantled Iran’s military capabilities. “We’ve already won the war. Militarily, we’ve totally won the war,” he said, describing the operation as comprehensive and decisive.

Trump detailed the scale of the campaign, claiming that US forces had crippled Iran’s naval and air capabilities. According to him, missile systems, communication networks, and key defense infrastructure were also destroyed. He further alleged that strikes targeted elements of Iran’s leadership structure, significantly weakening command and control within the country.

The former president emphasized that the military action was aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, framing the intervention as a necessity for global security. “You can’t let a madman, or you can’t let a mad ideology have a nuclear weapon,” Trump stated, warning of catastrophic consequences if such capabilities were allowed to develop.

Despite the aggressive tone, Trump revealed that he had agreed to pause further escalation following what he described as a request from Iran for additional time. “They asked me… ‘Could we have more time?’… and so I gave them a 10-day period,” he said. He added that negotiations were currently progressing “fairly well,” suggesting a potential diplomatic opening amid the tensions.

However, Trump issued a stark warning that failure to reach an agreement within the given timeframe would result in renewed military strikes. “If they don’t do what they have to do, I will knock out their power plants,” he cautioned, underscoring the high stakes of the ongoing standoff.

The remarks come amid heightened global concern over stability in the Middle East. Trump argued that the US action was not only about protecting American interests but also about ensuring broader international security. “We’re doing a big service to the world,” he claimed.

He also insisted that Iran had been on the brink of developing nuclear weapons prior to the US intervention. “If we didn’t hit them… they would have right now a nuclear weapon, and they would’ve used it by this time,” Trump asserted, though such claims remain subject to international scrutiny.

Responding to criticism at home, Trump dismissed opposition voices and pointed to strong backing from his political base. He highlighted what he described as widespread support among his followers, stating that they understood the necessity of preventing nuclear threats.

Reinforcing his stance, Trump praised the strength of the US military, calling it unmatched globally. “We have the greatest military in the world… nobody even comes close,” he said.

As the 10-day deadline approaches, the world watches closely to see whether diplomacy will prevail or if tensions between the United States and Iran will escalate further, potentially reshaping geopolitical dynamics in the region.
