Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026: India’s Kishorakumar Chandira Mogan wins gold, Mohammad Ansar bags bronze in men’s Hammer Throw

Must Read

Indian athletes delivered a strong performance in the men’s Hammer Throw at the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026, with Kishorakumar Chandira Mogan securing gold and Mohammad Ansar taking bronze in the 30+ age category.
Kishorakumar clinched the top position with a winning throw of 37.92 metres, while his compatriot Ansar earned third place on the podium at the international veterans athletics meet yesterday.
The gold medalist displayed consistency throughout the competition, recording valid throws of 35.94 metres and 36.97 metres before achieving his personal best of 37.92 metres. He registered two no-marks during his series.
The competition is taking place at the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026, a sporting event that represents the first major masters multi-sport games to be hosted in West Asia.
Unlike traditional World Masters Games that require athletes to meet qualification standards, the Abu Dhabi edition has adopted a fully inclusive “open” format.
The event welcomes competitors aged 30 and above regardless of ability or skill level, with no entry barriers. The eight-day games are scheduled to conclude today.
