Chancellor Ahmed Javed visits Tripura University for a two-day official tour, inaugurates new hostel and residential quarters, interacts with faculty and students, and reviews academic infrastructure, marking a significant milestone in the university’s institutional development.
Tripura University witnessed a momentous occasion as its Chancellor, Ahmed Javed, undertook a two-day official visit to the campus from February 12 to 13. The visit has been regarded as a significant event for the academic community, offering an important platform for dialogue and engagement between the Chancellor and members of the university fraternity.
According to an official notification issued by Registrar (In-Charge) Prof. Samir Kumar Sil, the Chancellor’s visit has been carefully scheduled to include interactions with faculty members, officers, non-teaching staff, research scholars, and students. A major interaction programme has been slated at the M.B.B. Auditorium on February 13 at 10:00 am, where the Chancellor is expected to address the university community and exchange views on academic growth and institutional progress.
The visit commenced on February 12 with a series of formal engagements. Chancellor Ahmed Javed first held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor in the Vice-Chancellor’s Chamber. The meeting focused on reviewing the university’s academic initiatives, administrative matters, and future development plans. This was followed by a formal reception at the Council Hall, where senior officials and faculty members welcomed the Chancellor.
One of the key highlights of the visit was the inauguration of newly developed infrastructure facilities at the university’s new campus. Chancellor Javed inaugurated a Boys’ Hostel and 12 residential quarters for staff. These facilities are expected to significantly enhance accommodation capacity for students and improve living conditions for university personnel. The addition of modern hostel infrastructure is likely to benefit outstation students, ensuring better access to higher education opportunities in the region.

Later in the afternoon, the Chancellor visited a Handicrafts Exhibition organized on the campus. On February 13, following the interaction session at the M.B.B. Auditorium, Chancellor Ahmed Javed is scheduled to visit the university library.
