A severe road accident near Teliamura SDPO office left four passengers critically injured after a Maruti car collided head-on with a tomtom. Police seized both vehicles and launched an investigation into the cause of the mishap.
A serious road accident left at least four passengers severely injured after a head-on collision between a Maruti car and a tomtom near the Teliamura SDPO office on Sunday evening. The incident caused panic in the busy area, drawing immediate attention from local residents and passersby.
According to eyewitnesses, the collision occurred suddenly, with both vehicles sustaining heavy damage to their front portions. The impact was severe enough to trap the passengers momentarily, prompting locals to rush to the scene and assist in rescue efforts before emergency services arrived.
The injured were quickly shifted to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors provided initial treatment. However, considering the seriousness of their injuries, all four victims were referred to GB Hospital for advanced medical care. The injured have been identified as Charlie Reang (40), Rinku Baishya (45), Suravi Baishya (45), and Krishung Reang (21). Hospital sources stated that their condition remains critical, and they are currently under close medical observation.
Police personnel from Teliamura Police Station, along with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, reached the accident site shortly after receiving information. Officers cordoned off the area to manage traffic and initiated a preliminary investigation to determine the cause of the collision.

Both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized by the police for further examination. Authorities have stated that a detailed probe is underway to ascertain whether overspeeding, negligence, or mechanical failure led to the mishap.
