West Agartala Police recover 30 lost mobile phones using the CEIR portal and return them to rightful owners. West Tripura SP Namit Pathak highlights technology-driven policing and urges citizens to report missing devices promptly.

West Agartala Police successfully recovered 30 lost mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners during a special programme held at the West Agartala Police Station on Sunday. The initiative highlighted the effective use of technology and the department’s commitment to public service.

The recovered mobile phones were formally handed over by West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak and Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala Police Station, Rana Chatterjee, in the presence of police officials and beneficiaries. The event brought relief and satisfaction to citizens who had lost their devices months earlier.

Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak stated that the mobile phones were traced using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. The digital platform enabled police to track and identify devices registered under missing mobile phone complaints. He informed that most of the recovered phones had gone missing during December last year and January this year.

The police clarified that none of the recovered mobile phones were connected to theft or criminal cases. Instead, the devices were lost or misplaced, and timely reporting by citizens played a crucial role in their recovery.
