
The Tripura Government and National Thermal Power Corporation- Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) in New Delhi signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New Delhi in presence of Chie Minister Dr manik Saha and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu dev Varma on Monday. The MoU seeks to give fillip to the renewable energy projects in the state.
The MoU envisaged the development of Floating and Ground Mounted based Renewable Energy Projects in the state.
The MoU will help the Tripura government in meeting its Clean Energy Commitments and obligations.
An official statement said “NTPC REL signed an MoU with the government of Tripura on 16-01-2023 for development of renewable energy projects in Tripura,”.
The agreement aims to develop large-sized renewable energy projects in Tripura and shall help the state in meeting its clean energy commitments.
Under the MoU, floating and ground mounted renewable energy projects will be developed in the state.
“This MoU embarks the journey towards dev. of Renewable Energy Projects in Tripura & shall help us in meeting our Clean Energy Commitments to the vision of PM @narendramodi Ji,” the Chief Minister wrote in a social media post.
The MoU was signed by Chief General Manager, NTPC REL- Rajiv Gupta and Director General and CEO, Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency- Mahananda Debbarma.
Tripura power secretary Brijesh Pandey, NTPC Ltd Director (Commercial) C K Mondal, NTPC Director (Finance) J Srinivasan, and NTPC REL’s CEO Mohit Bhargava were present at the event.
Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) is the nodal agency for implementing renewable energy projects in Tripura.
NTPC REL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of state-owned power generator NTPC.
