Tripura Police will receive new vehicles and upgraded medical facilities by mid-2026, announced DGP Anurag. The state government prioritizes strengthening police mobility and healthcare to improve law enforcement efficiency and public service quality.

In a strong move to enhance the operational efficiency of the police force in Tripura, Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag announced on Friday that every police station in the state will be equipped with modern vehicles within the next few months. This announcement comes as part of the state government’s broader initiative to strengthen police infrastructure and upgrade healthcare services for both police personnel and civilians.

During a detailed inspection of police establishments and police hospitals at the state police lines, DGP Anurag emphasized the government’s commitment to improving mobility and healthcare facilities for the police force. The DGP, accompanied by Superintendent of Police (SP) Manik Das, highlighted that the adequate mobility of the police is a top priority this year to ensure faster response times and enhanced public safety.

“The government has sanctioned funds liberally to equip all police stations with at least one new, modern vehicle. Some vehicles have already been procured, and additional orders are in progress. We expect the process to be fully completed by March, April, or May,” stated DGP Anurag.

This upgrade in the police transport fleet aims to replace aging vehicles and provide reliable, efficient transportation for police officers across the state. The vehicles will be crucial for patrolling, rapid deployment during emergencies, and improving overall law enforcement capabilities.

Apart from mobility improvements, DGP Anurag also focused on the state of healthcare facilities available to police personnel. During his visit to the police hospital, he assessed the current medical infrastructure and identified areas that require upgrades.

“I have reviewed the hospital facilities and outlined the necessary improvements to ensure better treatment for patients. The upgraded medical equipment and facilities will enhance healthcare delivery to police personnel as well as the public,” he said.

The police hospital in Tripura serves a dual role, catering not only to police staff but also to members of the local community. Recognizing this, DGP Anurag stressed the importance of upgrading medical amenities for the benefit of all citizens.

“Civilian patients frequently visit the police hospital for treatment. Hence, improving the hospital’s infrastructure and medical services is essential for the welfare of both police officers and the general public,” the DGP added.

The Tripura government’s emphasis on modernizing police infrastructure aligns with its larger vision of improving public safety and healthcare across the state. These efforts are expected to boost morale within the police force and foster stronger trust between law enforcement and the community.

As the procurement process advances, residents of Tripura can anticipate better police responsiveness and enhanced medical care for those serving the state’s security and their families.
