Minister Sudhangshu Das reviews North Tripura development projects in Dharmanagar, emphasizing timely implementation, beneficiary delivery, and inter-departmental coordination to accelerate district growth during the 2024–25 and upcoming 2025–26 financial years.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to inclusive and time-bound development, Minister for Animal Resources Development and Fisheries, Sudhangshu Das, on Monday chaired a crucial district-level review meeting at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office in Dharmanagar. The meeting marked the second phase of the comprehensive North Tripura district review process aimed at monitoring the progress of ongoing developmental initiatives.
The high-level meeting was attended by MLA Jadab Lal Nath, District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, the North Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati, and senior officials representing multiple departments. Officers from the Animal Resources Development Department, Fisheries Department, and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department were also present, reflecting the multi-sectoral focus of the review.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sudhangshu Das stated that the second phase of the review was primarily designed to evaluate the status of projects discussed during the first round of meetings. He emphasized that the government is closely tracking the pace of development work to ensure that projects are not only initiated but also implemented effectively on the ground.
“The objective of this review is to assess how far the previously approved development projects have progressed, identify bottlenecks if any, and take immediate corrective measures,” the minister said. He underlined that delays in execution would be closely examined and responsibility fixed where required, while practical solutions would be prioritized to overcome administrative or logistical challenges.
The minister highlighted that special attention was being given to beneficiary-oriented schemes under the Animal Resources Development, Fisheries, and Scheduled Caste Welfare departments. He stressed the importance of ensuring that eligible beneficiaries in North Tripura receive government benefits within stipulated timelines, particularly during the upcoming 2025–26 financial year.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the implementation status of various departmental projects, fund utilization, beneficiary coverage, and inter-departmental coordination. Officials were instructed to expedite pending works and strengthen field-level monitoring to avoid last-minute rushes at the end of the financial year.

Minister Das reiterated that regular review meetings are a key governance tool to maintain development momentum. “Such interactions help identify issues early and ensure that development remains dynamic, transparent, and result-oriented,” he said. According to him, periodic assessments also help align departmental efforts with broader district and state-level development goals.
District Magistrate Chandni Chandran briefed the minister on the overall administrative preparedness of the district and ongoing initiatives to improve service delivery. She assured that the district administration remains committed to ensuring effective implementation of all government schemes and maintaining accountability at every level.
MLA Jadab Lal Nath emphasized the need for coordination between elected representatives and officials to address grassroots-level challenges. He stated that timely execution of welfare schemes directly impacts public trust and socio-economic progress in the district.
The meeting also reviewed strategies to fast-track infrastructure support related to animal husbandry and fisheries, which play a vital role in livelihood generation in rural and semi-urban areas of North Tripura. Officials discussed ways to enhance productivity, strengthen supply chains, and provide technical support to farmers and fishermen.
