Governor Indrasena Reddy visits border villages and schools in Amarpur and Sabroom, focusing on infrastructure development, implementation of government schemes, and improving educational facilities for tribal students to promote inclusive growth in South Tripura.

Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu undertook a significant visit on Tuesday to the border villages of Amarpur and key educational institutions in Sabroom, South Tripura, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development and quality education in remote areas.

At Amarpur, the Governor toured several border villages in the Karbook sub-division, focusing on reviewing the implementation of Central Government schemes and understanding local community needs firsthand. Accompanied by his wife, the Governor visited the Jaleya BSF ADM Camp where he held an outreach meeting with villagers and local officials.

During the meeting, villagers voiced critical issues such as the urgent need for constructing new roads to connect border hamlets to nearby markets, installation of additional security gates along the international border, and improvements in basic amenities like drinking water, sanitation, and housing under various government schemes. The community also highlighted their concerns regarding Ujjwala LPG connections and access to health benefits under the Ayushman Bharat program.

Governor Reddy acknowledged these concerns and emphasized the transformation of border villages under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. “Border villages, once considered the ‘last villages,’ are now being recognized as ‘first villages’ with focused efforts to provide urban-like facilities even in these remote locations,” he said. The Governor underlined that his visit aimed to ensure the effective and transparent implementation of centrally sponsored schemes to uplift these areas.

After the interactive session at Jaleya BSF Camp, the Governor journeyed along the JC Bari–Khagrhachari border road, passing through Paticherra Gulmonipara to Silachhari BOP, where he shared a meal with local officials and security personnel. He then proceeded to Shuknacherra Mahabodhi School for another engagement, accompanied by senior officials including Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Joint Secretary Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Additional District Magistrate Subhash Debnath, MLA Sanjay Manik Tripura, and Karbook SDM Shyamjay Jamatia.

In the evening, the Governor visited two prominent educational institutions in Sabroom to assess educational infrastructure and student welfare. His first stop was the newly constructed Eklavya Model Residential School at Ludhua, currently catering to 60 students. The Governor interacted with the students on academics, mental development, and co-curricular activities while conducting a thorough review of the school’s facilities.

Subsequently, Governor Reddy visited the recently built hostel facility for tribal girl students at Sabroom PM SHRI Class XII Girls’ School. The hostel, which accommodates nearly 200 students, was inspected for living conditions, food quality, study environment, and future academic needs. The Governor encouraged the students to remain focused and determined in their educational pursuits, underscoring the importance of education in empowering tribal communities.

South Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati Dipak Datta, District Magistrate Mohammad Sajad P., Sub-Divisional Magistrate Abhijit Singh Yadav, and other officials accompanied the Governor during his Sabroom visit. The enthusiasm and warmth expressed by students and villagers highlighted the positive impact of the Governor’s hands-on approach to governance and development.
