Rupee depreciates by 7 paise to close at 88.63

 
In the forex market, the rupee today depreciated by seven paise to close at 88 rupees and 63 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading at 99.61 in intra-day trade.
