PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah launched strong attacks on the RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar, warning against the return of “Jungle Raj” and highlighting NDA’s record in governance, security, and development during rallies across the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-Congress alliance on Friday, warning that Bihar would never again return to the era of “Jungle Raj” marked by fear, kidnappings, and corruption.
Addressing a massive election rally in Aurangabad, Prime Minister Modi said that the people of Bihar had witnessed both the terror of the RJD’s rule and the development under the NDA government, and they would never choose darkness over progress again.
He referred to a viral video where a minor was seen boasting on an RJD stage that once Tejashwi Yadav becomes Chief Minister, he would carry a katta (country-made pistol). “This is the kind of training the RJD-Congress alliance is giving to Bihar’s youth — Rangdari (extortion), gun culture, and violence,” Modi said, warning voters not to let the state slip back into lawlessness.
‘Jungle Raj’ Will Never Return: Modi
PM Modi accused the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) of attempting to revive the same era of kidnappings, ransom demands, and criminal networks that defined Bihar during the 1990s and early 2000s. “The people of Bihar have suffered enough. The NDA has brought peace, roads, electricity, and opportunities. Jungle Raj will not return,” he asserted.
He highlighted the record voter turnout during the first phase of polling on Thursday, claiming that it showed the people’s confidence in the NDA. “Especially the women of Bihar have rejected the RJD-Congress alliance. They know who worked for their safety, dignity, and self-reliance,” he said.
‘Double Engine Government’ Brought Progress
Recalling the troubled times when Aurangabad was a stronghold of Maoist violence, PM Modi said, “During RJD-Congress rule, Aurangabad suffered greatly from Naxal attacks. It was only after Nitish Kumar’s government took charge under NDA that peace returned.”
Modi added that Bihar’s development accelerated only after 2014, when the “double-engine government” — the NDA at both the Centre and the state — came into force. “Earlier, the UPA government didn’t cooperate with Bihar. But after 2014, the Centre has given three times more funds for development — be it roads, railways, or welfare schemes,” he said.
He also attacked the RJD for its alleged betrayal of the Congress within their alliance. “RJD has insulted its ally Congress by giving it only those seats it hasn’t won in the last 35 to 40 years. Can those who betray their own allies ever be trusted by the people of Bihar?” he asked.
‘RJD Gave Jobs for Land’
PM Modi accused the RJD of “land-for-jobs” scams during its earlier tenure. “They distributed government jobs in exchange for land from poor people. And now they are back with false promises. NDA delivers what it promises — Article 370 removal, Ram Temple construction, women’s empowerment, and free electricity for the poor,” he said.
He also reminded voters that it was the NDA government that implemented the One Rank One Pension (OROP) policy, which Congress delayed for over 40 years. “We honored our soldiers. They delayed, we delivered,” he stated.
Amit Shah Warns Against ‘Even a Small Deviation’
In a parallel rally in Jamui, Union Home Minister Amit Shah warned that “even a small deviation from the lotus (BJP symbol) or the arrow (JD-U symbol)” could bring back the Jungle Raj in Bihar.
He said, “Lalu Yadav-Rahul Gandhi’s alliance has already been rejected in the first phase. People of Bihar have made up their minds — Jungle Raj will not return.”
Shah recalled that the Jamui–Gaya belt, once plagued by Maoism, was transformed under NDA rule. He announced that the BJP-led government would soon build a grand ₹850-crore temple dedicated to Goddess Sita at Punoura Dham in Sitamarhi — a project symbolizing Bihar’s cultural and spiritual revival.
J.P. Nadda Calls RJD Era ‘Dark Period’
BJP National President J.P. Nadda, addressing a rally in East Champaran’s Kalyanpur Assembly constituency, described the RJD’s rule between 1990 and 2005 as a “dark period of Jungle Raj and corruption.”
He reminded people of several heinous crimes during that time, including the Shilpi Gautam murder case and the brutal killing of Chanda Babu’s sons in Siwan. “Those were not just crimes — they were symbols of the collapse of governance. That was the reality of Jungle Raj,” Nadda said.
He praised the NDA government’s record in electrification, airport expansion, and healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Nadda also highlighted new initiatives such as PM Surya Ghar Yojana, which enables households to earn by selling surplus solar electricity, and women’s self-employment schemes offering ₹2 lakh in support.

“Bihar has transformed under the NDA. The people will not allow the return of fear and corruption,” Nadda concluded, amid chants of “Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar” (Once Again, Modi Government).
